State Sen. Dan Rutherford recuperating after fall in Colorado

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- State Senator Dan Rutherford is recuperating after breaking his jaw in a fall while on vacation in Vail, Colorado.

Rutherford issued a news release saying he's recuperating in a Colorado hospital, but the release didn't include any details of the accident.

The Chenoa Republican's jaw is currently wired shut.

He hopes to return to Illinois this week, but his injury will cause him to miss two days of the legislative session on Wednesday and Thursday.

Rutherford is also state chairman of Republican Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.

The development, hosting and maintenance of Senator Rutherford's web site are not paid for with taxpayer dollars. The phone line and internet service for Senator Rutherford's e-mails are also not paid for at taxpayer expense.
